I stayed in a standard room and couldn’t sleep properly until around midnight because of a party in a suite on the same floor. People were coming and going, clearly drunk, and being very loud. I first called the front desk about it, and was asked to bear with it as the event would end at 11pm. But when the noise continued past 11pm, I went down to the front desk in person to complain. They called the suite, but even after that, the noise carried into the hallway every single time the door opened and closed. The design and concept of the property are genuinely lovely, which makes the lack of basic noise control even more frustrating. A beautiful building isn’t enough if guests on the same floor can’t sleep because of a party next door. In a case like this, the hotel should let guests know in advance that a party is scheduled on their floor, so they can decide for themselves whether to book. Had I been told, I would have made a different choice.
