Smile Hotel Asakusa

Travelling as a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teens), we needed space and extra bathrooms (& toilets!) & we had it here at Asakusa Smile! We enjoyed our stay at this clean & comfortable accommodation. There was a washing machine, kitchen, microwave, stovetop and fridge that suited our needs. We didn't cook but we used the fridge & microwave. They had prepared the futon/sofa bed near the kitchen for us along with 2 double sized beds but we only used the beds so we folded up the sofa bed so we could sit and watch tv and have our meals. That made the area a little more spacious for us to move about. We also used the washing machine and hung our clothes on the clothes rack provided. The walls of the apartments are a little thin (we could hear muffled voices from next door) and there are signs to say we have to be respectfully quiet in the building. We're very grateful that the host was very accomodating to our needs. Asakusa Smile is a short walk across the bridge from the Asakusa Train Station then you'll be greeted by the sight of the Tokyo SkyTree. The are a few combinis on the way to the apartment so we picked up some coffee & breakfast snacks from there & there's a Capybara Cafe close to the Tokyo SkyTree called Cappiness (our daughter loved it!) . It was less than a 20 minute walk to the Don Quijote Asakusa & the Kaminarimon Gate/ Sensoji Temple. It's also just a 16 minutes walk to Kappabashi Kitchen Supply Town (Kitchen Street) where you can shop for chopsticks, utensils, bowls etc... If you're hungry for a good wagyu burger then near the Kaminarimon Gate there is an awesome burger restaurant called The Wagyu Brothers. There are alot of restaurants in the area so you will have plenty of options for meals. You also spend your afternoon at the Nakamise shopping street near the Asakusa Stn. that's filled with restaurants, souvenir & luggage shops & more - we had to buy an extra hard-case hand luggage for 20,00 yen (about AUD20). The location of Asakusa Smile was very convenient to lots of landmarks and shopping areas, so we were very happy with our stay there! We definitely enjoyed the walk across the bridge everyday and seeing the colors of the Tokyo Sky Tree change! PS: It would be helpful to add a few more wall hooks in the bedroom and bathroom are so we can hang up our clothes and towels.
