MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Nihombashi

We had the pleasure of staying at Mimarus twice during our epic 3-week tour of Japan. We also stayed at the Mimaru Shinsaibashi West next to Yotsobashi subway station in Osaka. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was consistent across both apartment hotels. One of the frustrations of eating out in Japan when you’re a family of 5, is just how impossible it can be to have a sit down meal without a prior reservation. The reception staff did not hesitate to make recommendations and bookings for us. The kitchenette’s were well equipped, though we didn’t use them to their fullest due to all the convenience brekkies we had from family marts. The rooms were beautifully set out with minimalist Japanese decor and had good housekeeping. Both sites had excellent and cheap, on site coin operated laundry facilities which were absolutely essential with 3 boys in the summer heat. The locations of both sites (Nihombashi in Tokyo and shinsaibashi west in Osaka) were central, but in relatively quieter parts of the city wards and therefore, felt like a haven from the busy cities. The reception lobby in Nihombashi had a lovely coffee shop and Sake tasting in the evenings. You could even choose some art work in the lobby to display on your room walls, to make it feel homely. Final shout out to Amu in reception in Nihombashi. She really went the extra mile to help us out. I couldn’t recommend Mimaru enough!
