Open in Google MapsAn absolute gem in Tokyo—perfect location and incredible service! I stayed at the Cypress Inn twice during my recent trip to Japan—once during my first week and again during my third week—and it was hands down the right decision to book it twice. I hadn't heard of this hotel before and completely relied on online reviews and the location when booking, and I can now confidently say that staying here was incredibly worth it. The biggest highlight is the unbeatable location. You have plenty of dining and shopping options right around the corner, including a Lawson convenience store literally just 5 to 10 meters away across the street. Best of all, Shin-Koiwa Station is right around the corner, giving you fantastic connectivity to get anywhere in Tokyo quickly. As for the hotel itself, I have so many positive things to say. First of all, the front desk staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. During my first stay, I asked about a coin laundry for my clothes, and the staff member actually walked out of the building with me to show me a laundromat. However, I ended up using the hotel’s own washing machine since it was much cheaper. It’s not the most modern machine, but it definitely gets the job done. One thing to note: I ran into an issue with the dryer on that floor—it just wasn't drying my clothes, even after multiple cycles. I suspect the lint filter might have been clogged. When I mentioned this to the staff, they immediately refunded all the money I had put into it without any hesitation. I then tried another dryer on a different floor, which worked perfectly. That is top-tier customer service! The rooms are, as you'd expect from a typical 3-star hotel in Japan, on the smaller side. But honestly, you're only there to sleep since you’ll be out exploring all day anyway, so it wasn't an issue at all. The room was super clean and exceptionally well-equipped. It actually features its own hot plate if you want to cook, a microwave, and a surprisingly large fridge—perfect if you want to prep your own food or just heat up snacks from the convenience store. The bathroom is your standard compact Japanese hotel layout with a shower and a fully functional bidet toilet. They also provide enough towels for four days upfront, which fits perfectly with their policy of cleaning the rooms every four days. My only minor complaint is the bed. For my personal taste, the mattress was a bit too firm and could have used a little more cushion. The pillows were also extremely hard, so if you struggle with firm pillows, you might want to bring your own. On the plus side, there are plenty of power outlets, and the desk and chair setup gives you enough space to organize your things and pack your bags. Overall, I can highly recommend the Cypress Inn in Tokyo. The value for money is excellent, and given all the perks, I will very likely book it again when I return to Japan next year!
