I accidentally booked the wrong date through Agoda shortly after midnight at Aliah Tolan Palace in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Because it was after 12:00 AM, I believed the booking system would automatically reflect the next day’s date, as many booking platforms do. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and I realized the mistake shortly afterward. I immediately contacted Agoda and requested a date change. Agoda informed me that the change required approval from the property. However, Aliah Tolan Palace refused the request. Agoda later told me they had tried to contact the property regarding the change but were unable to get a response. I was left stuck between Agoda and the property, with each side pointing to the other and no one willing to help resolve the issue. As a result, I lost the money I paid and had to find accommodation elsewhere. What makes this even more disappointing is that I was planning to stay at the property for around 10 days. Instead of helping a potential long-term guest, they showed no flexibility or willingness to assist. The manager told me there was nothing he could do, but I found that difficult to understand given the circumstances. A simple date change could have solved the problem, especially since I contacted them promptly after discovering the mistake. What should have been a simple customer service matter turned into a costly and stressful experience. Based on how this situation was handled, I would not recommend staying here.
