The Z Hotel at Gloucester Place

Great location, nicely appointed compact rooms, nice bed / bedding / towels, terrific shower, coffee bags rather than instant, free WiFi, Sky TV. But the whole point of all of this is for comfort and a great night’s sleep - which I certainly didn’t get. I had a room in the basement which with the 24hr cafe above, with its wooden floor, meant loud footsteps, scrapes and something on wheels or castors waking me again and again all through the night. I have (belatedly) seen reviews on Tripadvisor complaining about this issue and think the hotel response of telling them to try requesting a higher floor room if one is available is appalling! Some poor sucker will get stuck down there, you know it’s an issue, reduce the price of those rooms accordingly and allow your guests to make the decision. I felt ripped off and not valued at all.
