Unacceptable experience – Locked out of room with critical medication inside ​Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (0/5) ​To begin with, the lady that works at the pub next door told me "good luck getting in there". The cleanliness of the property was unacceptable. Upon arrival, the room was dusty, dirty, and the bed linens were clearly not clean. I had an extremely distressing and dangerous experience at The Carlton Tavern Hotel. ​I received official check-in instructions providing a code for Room 7. However, late at night, the door code suddenly stopped working, completely locking me out. All of my personal belongings, luggage, wallet, and—most importantly—my nightly cardiac medication were locked inside the room. ​This property has no physical reception, and their emergency support was non-existent: ​One contact number was completely unresponsive. ​The second contact person stated they had no way to assist or resolve the issue. ​Being unable to access my prescription medication posed a serious health risk and caused immense distress for my entire group, who spent hours trying to find a solution. ​The following morning, management admitted via message that their system had mistakenly assigned me the code for Room 7. Despite acknowledging their error, the lack of urgent night-time assistance and the safety hazard created by this failure are completely unacceptable. ​I strongly advise against staying here
