Apparently at this hotel, your reservation is only a suggestion. I booked a Twin Room in advance. Upon arrival, it had been changed to a Double Room with a sofa bed and labelled an “UPGRADE.” NO email. NO phone call. NO warning. NO consent. I booked twin beds because I needed twin beds. If a hotel can simply replace what you paid for with whatever room is available, what is the point of booking a specific room type? To make matters worse, the room had terrible soundproofing. Between the uncomfortable sofa bed and the constant noise, I couldn’t sleep at all before my EMBASSY APPOINTMENT the next morning! Twice, on two separate days, different staff took down my email address and PROMISED the manager would contact me VERY SOON. I STILL HAVEN’T received a single email, phone call, or apology… What is particularly telling is that I received no response until my booking agent got involved. After ignoring me, the hotel’s solution was a 15% discount on a FUTURE stay. That assumes I would trust this hotel with another booking and somehow I was made to feel like I was the inconvenience…
