Open in Google MapsWe were really looking forward to our anniversary weekend, so this experience was incredibly disappointing from the moment we arrived. After checking in, we were told the hotel had been overbooked and that there wasn’t actually a room available for us. Instead, we were sent to a “sister hotel” just down the road which was this hotel, Inhabit. Unfortunately, it was nowhere near the same standard as the hotel we had originally booked and paid for. The room we were given was tiny, on the basement level, and felt cramped and dark. The whole place had a completely different atmosphere too. We even struggled to find reception because the “front desk” was just two members of staff sitting at a dining table in the back of the restaurant with no clear signage. It honestly felt more like checking into a hostel than a 4-star hotel. The restaurant was also heavily vegan-focused, which may suit some people, but it’s not somewhere we would ever have chosen ourselves as there were very limited options for meat eaters. Had we known we’d be staying there instead, we wouldn’t have booked it. What makes it even more frustrating is that we paid for one hotel and ended up in something significantly lower quality through no fault of our own. It completely overshadowed what was meant to be a special anniversary weekend. Overall, a very disappointing experience, poor handling of the overbooking, and certainly not what we expected from a 4-star hotel. We won’t be returning.
