Open in Google MapsOur stay here was a terrible experience. We visited in October 2024, and it remains the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. When we arrived, we found out that our room was in the basement. That alone wouldn't have been a problem, but the room had an unbearable musty sewer smell that was simply unacceptable. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and the window overlooked a tiny enclosed courtyard. The listing stated that the room had a private bathroom, but in reality, this meant that you had to leave your room and use a bathroom across the hallway. The only thing that made it "private" was a curtain you could pull across the corridor next to the room. The bathroom itself also had an unpleasant smell. When we raised these issues, the owner was not particularly helpful. He told us that this was what you get for this price in London and that everything was clearly shown in the photos. The pictures certainly didn't convey just how poor the condition of the room was, and of course, they couldn't show the smell. When I asked if we could be moved to a room on an upper floor, he said it wasn't possible. When I requested a refund, he simply referred me to Booking.com. I contacted them as well, but I kept hitting dead ends. In the end, we accepted the loss and moved on, but it's an experience we'll never forget—and not for the right reasons.
