City Inn Express Hotel

I would like to start by saying the positive, which was that the staff was lovely, but I find it hard to recommend staying here longer than one night. Me and a friend stayed over for a concert in a twin room during a heatwave which I absolutely do not recommend doing at this hotel. there was no air conditioning or way of keeping cool beyond a fan that was broken so that it wouldn’t tilt towards our beds, and the windows only crack open slightly. The beds were very hard, slim and pushed very close together for the price we paid (over £130 per night) but manageable for a single night stay. the only utility in the room is a small toilet with a shower. we did not test the shower, but the tap was missing it’s filter so it kind of sprays everywhere. the plug sockets were also covered by the bedside tables which is a little annoying. We were also placed next to what i can only assume was the boiler room, because it was periodically going off behind us throughout the day/night. other than that, the location feels a little strange and out of the way but not entirely unsafe and is accessible for bus routes, and it seemed generally clean.
