Chiswick Lodge Hotel

We had low expectations for this place and only planned to stay there to sleep, but this was far worse than anticipated. When we arrived to drop off our luggage before check-in, we were greeted by a man who appeared to be staying in a back room rather than working at a proper reception. He was wearing pajama pants and had no shoes or socks on. We decided to give it a chance and returned at 2 PM to check in, only to be met again by the same man, still barefoot and dressed the same way. The reception desk was sticky. We were then led down a hallway that smelled strange—a mix of smoke, sweat, and spices. When we entered the room, the floor was dirty, especially along the walls. The bathroom was clearly not cleaned properly: the shower had visible grime and buildup, with mold along the edges, and the sink area was also dirty and worn. The window showed signs of neglect, with dirt, damage, and mold. Behind the beds, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, with mold stains and other brown marks. When we lifted the bedding, we found more brown stains, hair, and even a small bug. We found this so uncomfortable and disturbing that we immediately left and simply placed the key cards at the reception. Would not recommend under any circumstances.
