The food at Bennie Restaurant & Bar was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. It was honestly one of the best meals I had during my trip. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. When our meals arrived, the table hadn’t even been fully set(after 30 minutes). We were also brought an opened drink that we had never ordered, and it was surprisingly difficult to explain that we hadn’t touched it because it simply wasn’t ours. Another disappointing moment came as soon as we finished eating: without asking whether we wanted dessert, coffee, or anything else, the bill and the card reader were placed on our table, making us feel as though we were expected to leave immediately. This was especially strange considering the restaurant was almost empty at around 2:30 p.m. To make matters worse, the bill was incorrect. We had asked for the £19 meal deal, which included one main course and one drink. My coffee was correctly charged separately, but I was also charged for the drink that I had never ordered or consumed. Having to point out this mistake after everything else was quite frustrating. Finally, when one of the staff members came to clear the table, she started taking the plates without even asking if she could. After I told her it was fine to clear them, she gave me an unfriendly look, which left a poor final impression. The kitchen deserves five stars for the excellent food, but unfortunately the service fell far below the same standard. I hope these issues are addressed, because the quality of the food truly deserves better service.
