What guests say

I booked this hotel two weeks in advance for my parents, specifically because it was close to Taksim metro. The reviews on both Booking.com and Google seemed decent, so I thought it would be a safe, convenient choice. It was anything but. When my parents arrived on the evening of July 20th after a long journey, they couldn’t even find the hotel. There was no sign with the hotel name on it. Once they located it, staff led them to a different alley entirely, down to a basement room. The room was tiny, the window couldn’t be opened, there was no fridge, and it was hard to breathe inside. No one helped them carry their luggage down to the basement either, and there was no elevator. The next morning at breakfast, my mother mentioned the room wasn’t good. Staff said the price we’d paid only covered rooms like that one, and that everything else was full. When I pointed out the reservation had been made three weeks ago for a proper double room, the staff member, visibly annoyed, showed them a different room, but said we’d now have to pay an extra €10 per night. This felt more like an unmarked guesthouse than an actual hotel. I’d heard warnings that booking hotels in Istanbul can be a scam, which is exactly why I was so careful checking reviews beforehand, but it didn’t matter. Avoid this place, especially if you’re booking for family who won’t be able to negotiate or push back in person. Edit: It's disappointing that the hotel takes no responsibility when it comes to the lower-rated reviews. Every issue seems to be justified rather than acknowledged, which doesn't leave much room for genuine improvement. What stood out to me most was how quickly you replied to my review within minutes yet didn't offer a single kind word about what happened to my parents. That response said a lot on its own. I'm clearly not the only person who has raised similar concerns, and others will notice the pattern too. Perhaps it would serve the "hotel" better to view these reviews as an opportunity for improvement, rather than something to argue against point by point.
