Kocatepe Mahallesi Abdulhak Hamit Caddesi no:22 Taksim - Beyoğlu
Open in Google MapsI stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a frustrating experience with a staff member named Hamza at the front desk. I had a friend who came by to see me since they knew I was in town, just to meet for an hour, nothing more. Hamza informed me that my friend could not come up at all unless I booked a separate room or a room with a double bed, even for a short visit. He also kept repeating that there were "families in the rooms" nearby, as a justification, which felt like he was assuming something inappropriate was happening when it was simply a friend stopping by to say hello. That assumption made the whole interaction feel unnecessarily judgmental. When I asked to see the hotel's official policy on this, he couldn't provide one. I asked to speak with a manager to clarify the rule, but he told me the manager was unavailable and didn't want to be disturbed. I also noticed other guests bringing visitors up to their rooms around the same time, with no issue at all, which made the whole situation feel inconsistent and arbitrary. It was an unnecessarily difficult and unwelcoming experience over something that should have been simple. I'd expect clearer policies and better management availability from a hotel at this level.
