Sultan Tughra Hotel

This hotel is an absolute gem! We booked a suite with jacuzzi and it was perfect. The views overlook the neighbourhood, which is a quiet, friendly, and interesting area. There is no lift so if you book this suite, do be prepared for a bit of a climb up to the third floor but believe me, it's worth it. The room itself isn't huge but it is more than big enough to be comfortable. The hotel's Ottoman-themed decor continues up the stairs and into the room and it definitely adds to the charm. The sofa and bed were comfortable, the mini-fridge was stocked with for-purchase items at reasonable prices and kept the items we brought in very chilled. There is a wardrobe with sufficient storage space for luggage and clothing, a safe is also provided in-room. The desk also had a small drawer for storage. The walls seemed pretty solid, you don't have to worry about constantly hearing other guests moving about in their rooms or worry you're going to disturb someone in another room if you want to use the hair dryer at 10PM. The room was clean when we arrived, and nicely cleaned every day that we requested it. The shower had fantastic water pressure, the supplied shower gels and shampoo were lovely, and the jacuzzi worked very well--something we deeply appreciated after all the walking we did every day! Staff are always available to answer questions but they're never intrusive. Erdem Bey welcomed us to the hotel warmly, helped with luggage, explained features of the local area, and gave us helpful tips for navigating the city. Any questions or issues we had were taken care of promptly. Within a day, we felt we were with family. Breakfast is great, every day the spread is a little different, but it's always fresh and tasty. We saw them cooking food, like the scrambled eggs, fresh during the breakfast service. They pay attention to what guests like and deliver. There's always coffee, tea, and water available in the breakfast room. The location is fantastic! You're in the heart of everything but far enough removed from busy areas to be able to have quiet evenings. Sultanahmet Mosque and the Hagia Sophia are a short walk away, you can be strolling by the sea front in a few moments, and there's easy access to nearby train and tram stations. There is a fantastic restaurant just across the street, several small convenience store type shops nearby and a number of different types of restaurants are also close by. Staff are always happy to help you with recommendations. Also, it was quite warm when we arrived but the air conditioner was fabulous! It kept the room comfortable even on the hotter days. This was a very special trip for us, and our stay at Sultan Tughra was perfect.
