Excelsior Hotel Downtown

Stayed for a few days and ended up extending our stay due to flight changes. Location: The hotel is in a busy area surrounded by many attractions, cafés, restaurants, and affordable local markets, making it a great choice for families looking to save a little on food and shopping. It is also conveniently close to the metro. Staff: The front desk team was extremely friendly and always willing to help with any request. Although we may have been a little challenging at times with our two little daughters, they remained patient, kind, and professional throughout our stay. My special thanks go to Sayed and Mahmoud for their patience, kindness, and outstanding hospitality, Asha as well ! The rooftop swimming pool is a nice place to relax and spend a few hours. The rooms are spacious, although they could benefit from some renovation. The housekeeping team also did an excellent job and kept the rooms clean. The only incident that slightly disappointed me happened one night… At around 11:20 PM, the security staff knocked on our door and rang the bell even though our room was marked “Do Not Disturb.” It startled (scared) all of us, especially our children. We were told there was noise coming from our room. While I completely understand the importance of keeping noise levels down and acknowledge that we may have been a bit loud, I believe a courtesy phone call to the room would have been a more appropriate first step specially when the room is DND . Hats off to the housekeeping team! Whenever we requested anything while our room was on Do Not Disturb, they would always call us first and politely ask us to open the door so they could deliver the requested items. Their professionalism and respect for our privacy were truly appreciated. We had been staying at the hotel for several days, going out every day, and at no point had anyone informed us that noise from our room had been an issue before. Overall, despite this experience, we had a pleasant stay and truly appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the hotel staff especially the reception staff with above mentioned names . The genuine kindness, professionalism, and dedication of the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We wish the entire team continued success, and we would be happy to stay here again in the future. Thank you !
