Staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, the maintenance of both the rooms and public facilities was quite poor. The most noticeable issue was the corridor carpets, which had many visible stains. In addition, the corridors felt damp and had an unpleasant smell when walking through them. While this is one of the cheapest Marriott hotels in Dubai, and I understand that you generally get what you pay for, basic standards of hygiene and cleanliness should never be compromised. As an Aloft-branded hotel under Marriott, I expected a better standard of upkeep and maintenance. The overall condition of the property fell below what I would normally expect from the brand.
