Manchester Plaza Hotel

i stayed there from 22nd jan to 27th jan. My booking was for 22nd jan, unfortunately i arrived in the early hours and rather having to wait til 2pm for my room, i was told i had to pay extra to get early access, fair enough. My booking was for around £41 a night but the manager said it will cost me £90 to get the extra night, he eventually brought it down to £70....My room was spacious, and clean, but the safety deposit box was broken, so they gave me keys to operate it, my tv didnt work, they tried to fix it by changing the batteries on my remote, still didnt work, so i just left it that way, an electrical plug front fell off on my last morning, all of which i can live with. I never ate in the hotel, i never used the swimming pool, the location of the hotel is a long way from the metro, you can get a bus to it.I asked reception girl how to know what bus to get, she couldnt tell me, and told me just to get a taxi. there are plenty of supermarkets close at hand but all in all next time id rather get a hotel closer to the metro....BTW the extra night price, the manager said was because there was a big exhibition on in dubai (food) and prices had risen dramatically, i check later on and the prices were still around £41 a night.....hmmmm. The chambermaid was lovely and always had a smile, and overall the hotel was ok for a short period, but i wont return to it in the future. Also the wifi is terrible...
