Ibis Bangkok Sukhumvit 4

I do not recommend this hotel at all. First of all, it is incredibly noisy. All around it, there are prostitutes, weed shops and bars blasting loud music day and night. The staff are probably the worst I have encountered anywhere in the world. I was relocating to Thailand alone, with over 10 bags and 2 cats in big carriers. Despite this, the staff refused to help me with the luggage, stating that 'there is nobody available' while several employees just stood around the reception. I was absolutely shocked and have never been treated so badly anywhere in the world. The staff just stood there and watched me as I dragged everything from my room by myself, with zero help, dripping with sweat. The hotel corridors are very long, hot and musty and I was given the room furthest away from the lift. The hotel is mostly frequented by large noisy Indian groups, so perhaps they are given priority, althought the staff didn't seem particularly friendly towards them either. The insulation in the rooms is incredibly poor and I could hear TVs blasting in the middle of the night. The only reason I stayed in this hotel is because I had the cats with me and they accept pets. Unless you have to stay there, I really wouldn't recommend it.
