The Princess Victoria

My partner and myself just stayed here for a few nights. The pub itself is quite nice, with lovely decor and a pleasant outdoor area. The room however was super small, the walls were very thin so we could hear the people in the rooms next to us. The fridge had power but didn't work at all and for some reason the temperature control on the shower was set to steaming hot and fixed in place. Normally that wouldn't be overly annoying but considering we were experiencing 36 degree days, washing the sweat of the day away with a burning hot shower wasn't exactly pleasant. Of course, it was pretty much just a side note after we came back to our room on the second night to find the bed had been freshly made with a sheet that had human fecal matter ironed into it. We had to get the manager to physically sniff the sheet before he gave us a different room for the night whilst they fixed the issue. Weirdest thing that's ever happened to me at a hotel. The cleaner seemed lovely so I'm assuming the laundrette caused the issue but still, a bit bemused as to how you could overlook a big brown iron shaped stain on the bed once you've made it. If it wasn't for Igor being an absolute gent during our stay we would have packed up and asked for a refund.
