افتح في خرائط قوقلI had a very disappointing experience at The Green W7 while watching the England vs Ghana match in the outside garden area with a group of friends. When we arrived, we were told we needed to buy drinks if we wanted to stay and watch the game. We were completely happy to do this and spent around £20 on drinks whilst watching the first half of the match. At no point were we told there was a minimum spend or that we would be expected to continue purchasing drinks throughout the game. During the second half, the manager, Caroline, came over and aggressively accused us of not buying any drinks, repeatedly telling us that this wasn't a free place to watch football and that we needed to buy more. Despite explaining that we had already purchased drinks, she didn't believe us until we actually offered to show our bank statement as proof that we had paid but she did not want to have a look at it even whilst showing her. Even after seeing the evidence, she continued insisting that we leave and threatened to call the police if we didn't. The situation became even more upsetting when another customer got involved. He started telling us that we didn't belong there and that we needed to leave, while making what we considered to be racist comments. Instead of asking him to stay out of the situation or addressing his behaviour, Caroline put her arm around him and used him as an example, saying that "even he's saying it," implying that we should leave. I found it completely unacceptable that a manager would involve and appear to support another customer in this way rather than dealing with the situation professionally. After leaving, I went back inside simply to ask for the manager's name so I could make a complaint. Caroline refused to tell me her name, and I only managed to get it from another member of staff. While I was inside, she again raised her voice and began telling other customers about what had happened, which made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. At that point I no longer felt safe or welcome and decided to leave. I appreciate that pubs have the right to ask customers to purchase drinks or to leave if necessary, but we had already complied with what we were asked to do. The way we were spoken to, the accusations made against us, the threat to call the police despite us showing proof of purchase, and the handling of another customer's behaviour made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I hope the management take this complaint seriously and ensure that no other customers are treated this way.
