Sheriff Hotel

Approx 6 months ago booked a room with balcony which did cost us more than the other rooms. We got there today and they gave us our room key and we went into our room. There's no balcony , so I went back to the desk with my email proof that I booked a balcony room and she said well there's guests staying in there long term so they just moved us into a nasty grotty back room and she said there was no difference in price... It was dark and horrible and it's not what I paid for, there was a difference in price and I paid more for the balcony room. I said to her, why couldn't someone have called me to tell me that the room was changed and she said she was sorry and didn't notice til now. 🙃 She then said she'd refund me £20... She actually charged me £20. So I went back to the desk and she said, I know I charged you £20 , we've reversed it. I told them I don't want to stay there and I want a full refund, which granted they did... But only because someone else was having difficulties at desk , apparently he booked this date but in November instead so they happily refunded us to give to him . Also, I quickly sat on the bed in there and I sunk into it so much, very cheap mattress, could feel springs. Luckily, was able to book somewhere around the corner which is beautiful for half the price and with air con.
