I've seen many mixed reviews, some of them describing circumstances that are definitely not tolerable and where I hope the owner did take action eventually. With my review, I don't want to question their credibility, but my stay was (thankfully) a lot more pleasant. We had a good stay in a small apartment here. The location is perfect with two Underground stations, Hyde Park and businesses close by foot. The room was in a decent shape, the furniture was old but more than decent and the whole building was very clean. Two downsides: In summer, it can get very warm and stale in the room, because there is no AC and the window doesn't open fully. There is a little fan in the room but it certainly weren't the most enjoyable nights sweating. If you have another apartment or come during a different time of year, it may be more comfortable.
