London Queen's Eurostar - Kings Cross

Initially the room looked nothing at all like the bright, spacious photos on the website. I had specially requested a high floor and the photos give the impression that the rooms are quite spacious and have amazing natural light so I actually felt extremely mislead upon arriving and then being taken DOWNstairs into a room which was quite the opposite. Cramped, stuffy and ended up being extremely hot and poorly ventilated even with the “windows” open all the way; especially during a particularly warm period in London. The room itself was also quite dusty throughout the stay as I noticed things becoming covered after sitting for only a few hours and the top of the cupboard had clearly NEVER been cleaned. This was compounded by the fact the room is positioned directly opposite and underneath the opening to a loud, smelly kitchen which is open well past midnight every single night. On top of this, a table placed in front of the tiny wardrobes’ door which we had to move to be able to access said wardrobe only added to the claustrophobia you feel whilst trying to sleep, bathed in your own sweat as the restaurant next door bangs away well into the next morning. Basically you have the choice between closing the “windows” (one of which was jammed open and would not close) which do little to prevent any noise coming in; or cracking them open which does nothing to improve the airflow or temperature in the room. Then there’s the bathroom, again looking very little like the photos; supplies strewn about and wall panels hanging ajar. A tacky shower curtain reveals a poor setup which fell apart multiple times even on my first use and a shower head that refuses to stay upright in any kind of useful position paired with poor temperature control, going hot and cold multiple times during a shower. All this combined with a janky door which does NOT even lock securely. On top of all of this when I messaged the property to express my disappointment and arrange some form of compensation they didn’t even reply and then once I contacted Agoda they offered a pitiful £30 refund. I am still trying to contact the property to organise something more fitting. If this review saves even one person from making the mistake of booking a room here I will consider that a win, take caution and book at your own risk.
