Golden Star Hotel

PLEASE AVOID - Report to Westminster Environmental Health. I'm pretty easygoing with hotels and don't need much - I've lived on a mat on a floor in a bamboo hut in a tiny poor village in North Thailand but this was actually the worst stay I've experienced in my life. I would have preferred sleeping rough to staying here. Please believe the reviews - this should not be operating, and is not really operating as a hotel because no one seems to be running it. Arrived to find no one around to answer the front door. The instructions tell you to call a number - went to voicemail - or go across the street and knock on a random house, which I did for 20 minutes, I could hear a woman shouting "coming" each time I knocked but she clearly wasn't. Finally someone answered the phone and said someone was "coming" 10 minutes later a really kind man opened the door, who didn't work there but said they only have 2 rooms, one the bathroom is broken - no water, or the other which had a bathroom but black mould and damp EVERYWHERE - see pics. It should be closed down! The carpet was filthy and clearly had damp/mould and I didn't dare make contact with the bed. But I was exhausted from traveling so took the key to sit for a bit, the kind man tried to help me be comfortable but within an hour my chest and breathing was off and I have asthma so I slept on the floor at a friend's place instead. Will be pursuing a refund - fingers crossed!!
