City View Hotel - Roman Road Market

I stayed at this hotel last night. I knew it wasn't going to be the Ritz, for London prices, it was a cheap hotel, and it lived up to my expectations. The room was, however, clean. Yes, it needed a bit of decoration, but the shower worked well, and the towels were good. The staff were as helpful as they could be, allowing me to leave my bag there while they prepared my hotel room. The addition of a good-sized fridge in my room was a pleasant surprise - had it been a bit bigger, I might have slept in it, the temperatures were so high! (Not the hotel's fault lol). The close proximity to the London Stadium was my reason for using this hotel, and it was about a 24-minute walk, which was perfect. It was also surprisingly quiet as well, not sure what the City View was? But I wasn't there for sightseeing. A few constructive things - The windows in the room I had, well, I feel needed some form of safety locking mechanism - I didn't like that they were left wide open, and that there was a flat roof outside the windows. As I said earlier, the room would benefit from a paint job. The plug sockets were all on the wall by the Double bed, but the bedside table was in between the two beds, so you couldn't put your phone on the bedside cabinet to charge it up. The reception area had that 'lived in' feel too. On the whole a good experience and I would go back again if I ever attend the stadium again.
