AXO Waterloo in London

Location is good, but I can't recommend it, especially for solo female travellers. The location is genuinely the only strong point of this property. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. No cooling options in summer: The room had no fan, no AC, and windows that don't open properly, so heat from the day just stayed trapped overnight. When I asked staff for a fan or a different room, I was told to bring my own fan or check whether the heating was switched off — not a real solution. I wouldn't book this property between spring and autumn; the room is genuinely unbearable in warm weather. Basic amenities missing: No soap, shower gel, or shampoo were provided, despite the facility claiming otherwise on the posters. Serious safety concern: The most troubling part of my stay - while I was showering, someone knocked twice, and when I didn't answer, they opened the door. It wasn't my checkout day, and the property doesn't offer daily cleaning, so there was no legitimate reason for anyone to enter. As a solo female traveller, this was frightening. Reception apologized when I raised it, but I never got a clear explanation for why it happened. Comfort-wise, the bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom felt poorly designed, though functional. I understand London accommodation is expensive, but after this experience, I'd rather pay more for a place where I feel safe and comfortable. I would not stay here again.
