Taxim Hill Hotel

Its 2:45 a.m and I went to the front desk because I couldn’t sleep due to a very loud machine operating right outside my balcony. I explained that I had work the next day and desperately needed to get some rest. Instead of trying to help, the receptionist was rude and told me this was “normal” because I had booked a standard room. For the record, the standard room was not even the cheapest room category they offer. There is nothing normal about having a loud mechanical unit operating immediately outside your room and expecting guests to sleep through it. I calmly asked him not to speak to me with such an attitude. He laughed and said, “This is my normal voice.” That response was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I made it very clear that I was not asking for a free upgrade. I simply asked to be moved to another room without the excessive noise so I could get some sleep. The only solution they offered was to pay extra for an upgraded room
