Istanbul Hub Flats

I stayed at Istanbul Hub Flats for 8 days (7 nights). The location is somewhat convenient — not too far from Taksim Square, but not very close either, and there are several uphill slopes that may not suit everyone. The apartment was generally as described, but some items listed on Airbnb were missing. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was hygiene. The bathroom, in particular, was in very poor condition and clearly needed deep cleaning. Ventilation was also inadequate, making it uncomfortable to use. During my stay, the weather was hot (around 36°C) with high humidity. This meant needing to shower multiple times a day — in the morning, midday, and again at night — which made the lack of sufficient clean towels even more inconvenient. Housekeeping was inconsistent. We had an agreement for cleaning every 3 days, but instead I was asked whether I wanted cleaning, which felt inappropriate — this should be routine, not optional. They also missed a scheduled cleaning before my departure. Towels were another issue. There were not enough towels provided, and requests for additional ones were not consistently fulfilled. On one occasion, a towel provided was not clean, which was unacceptable. Despite the apartment being listed for up to 3–4 guests, basic supplies did not match that capacity. The laundry/storage area (2 floors below) was inconvenient and poorly managed. There was a noticeable garbage smell in the area, and the space felt disorganized, with clothes left inside machines. It didn’t feel accessible or comfortable to use. I also want to clarify an incorrect claim made by the owner. They stated that I called them repeatedly at 7 a.m., which is not true. I do not have a local phone number and did not make any calls. I only sent a single message around 8 a.m. requesting towels, as they had not been replaced. This raises concerns about communication accuracy and professionalism. There is no elevator in the building, which is important to note. Overall, I felt the property has limited resources and struggles to maintain service quality, especially for longer stays. This place might be acceptable for a very short stay if expectations are low, but I would not recommend it for families or extended visits.
