We were scammed by this hotel as we were leaving Turkey. They have signs all around the hallways advertising an "open buffet breakfast." We decided to go 10 minutes before leaving for an early morning flight. The man who greeted us told us to serve ourselves and it was only as we left that we were informed the breakfast would cost us $50. We had been at the buffet for 5 minutes and eaten a yoghurt each. There were no signs posted advertising the price or that a fee even applied. When we informed the hotel that this was against Turkish consumer rights law -- which requires every customer to be notified of a price in writing before obtaining a service -- they refused to refund us the $50. These were some very expensive yoghurts and the only time we had any problems with scams in Turkey.
