Grand Makel Hotel Topkapi

Rating: 2/5 I stayed at Grand Makel Hotel Topkapı, Istanbul for 3 nights. I was told it was a 5-star hotel, but in my opinion, it felt more like a 3-star property. There were several issues that were disappointing: - The room amenities were very basic. There was no toothpaste, face wash, fragrance, or air freshener. For a hotel claiming to be 5-star, I expected much better toiletries. - The shower was very average and not what I would expect from a luxury hotel. - The corridor carpets had large black stains and looked very dirty, which raised serious concerns about the hotel's cleanliness and hygiene standards. - The room refrigerator/freezer was not working properly. I had stored my ice pack in the hotel's freezer and when I called to have it returned, it took nearly an hour for room service to deliver it. The breakfast service staff were polite and the service itself was good, but the quality and taste of the food were below average. Overall, I don't believe this hotel meets 5-star standards. It has the potential to improve, but based on my experience, I would rate it closer to a 3-star hotel.
