Ala Sofia Hotel

The hotel staff were very kind, helpful, and accommodating, which I truly appreciated. The location of the hotel is excellent — very close to the Blue Mosque, within walking distance of public transportation and a supermarket, which is a big advantage. Unfortunately, the accommodation itself had several serious issues. The room I was initially given had a strong, almost toxic smell of paint or varnish from newly painted furniture. Even after two days of intensive airing, the smell did not disappear. Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor coming from the floor drain in the bathroom, and there was mold in the shower cabin. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, and I also found someone else’s hair on the towel, which I consider unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. After two days, I requested a room change and my request was granted without any problems, for which I thank the staff. The second room no longer smelled of paint, but mold was still present in the shower area. Overall, I appreciate the staff’s attitude and the excellent location, but the condition of the rooms, hygiene standards, and sleeping comfort definitely need significant improvement.
