Unmet Expectations for a 'Luxury' StayI was very disappointed with the apartment I stayed in Dubai, which was advertised as a luxury accommodation but did not meet the promised standards. The first and most serious problem was the location of the property: the advertisement indicated an address in a completely different part of Dubai from the real one. The correct location was communicated to me only on the day of arrival, making it impossible for me to cancel the reservation without losing the payment already made. This was particularly problematic since I had specifically chosen the property for its proximity to kite surfing schools.Moreover, the apartment did not reflect the standards of a "luxury apartment". The finishes were of lower quality than advertised, and essential services such as daily cleaning, and the provision of coffee, water, sugar, and tea were missing, all standards in other less luxurious apartments where I have previously stayed in Dubai. The cleaning was also lacking and missed the attention to detail I would expect from accommodation in this category, such as the availability of soap in the bathrooms.I reported these issues to the property management immediately after my arrival, but I did not receive any assistance or compensation proposal for the inconvenience.
